The principles taught in this class are basic to all mediums. Color and light are the focus of the week, along with essential elements of strong composition. Students explore color by working from costumed models and/or still life. Optical mixing of layered color, as well as the analysis of the effect of light and substructure of values and temperature are stressed. Each student receives individual attention and critiques. Demonstrations, lectures and a slide show are designed to give students tools to achieve intensely beautiful color.
